Lucy

Never have I beheld such beauty,
As I see in your sweet face.
The innocence of youthful bloom,
That these, my eyes, embrace.

The hair that tumbles from the crown,
That dances in the noonday sun,
That so excites and so delights me,
Mischievous magic could be spun.

Those dreamy mellow eyes of sable,
Sparkling with a thousand lights,
Like the beautiful star-lit skies,
Found aplenty on warm summer nights.

Your beauty is so young and rare,
Better would be hard to find!
And this loveliness that so enchants me
Will live forever in my mind.
